Summer Music Classes for All Ages
Summer is an ideal time to continue building your musical skills, whether your child is looking to get a head start on fall audition preparation, enjoy relaxed and fun music-making, or even try a new instrument for the first time. For adult learners, summer is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with music. Did you play in your school orchestra, band, or chorus? It’s never too late to get back into it at DSM!
Beginning Group Piano Class (9 Weeks)
This fun and supportive beginner piano class is designed for students with little or no prior piano experience. In a small group setting of 3–6 students, participants will learn the fundamentals of piano playing through hands-on instruction, games, rhythm activities, and simple songs.
Over 9 weeks, students will develop basic keyboard skills including:
- Proper hand position and posture
- Reading simple music notation
- Rhythm and counting
- Finger coordination and technique
- Playing melodies and basic chords
- Listening and ensemble skills
Dates: 6/25–8/20
Cost: $280 | Keyboard rental for home practice: $50 (optional)

Learn Ukulele for Beach Season
Beginning Ukulele Group Class (4 Weeks)
This engaging beginner ukulele class is perfect for students with little or no previous musical experience. It is open to all ages, great for parents and children together. In a relaxed and encouraging group setting, students will learn the basics of ukulele playing through simple songs, rhythm exercises, and hands-on instruction.
In each 4 week session, students will build confidence while playing familiar songs and making music together in a supportive small-group environment. The course emphasizes fun, creativity, and foundational skills that prepare students for continued musical growth.

Cost: $120 per session | Class size: Min 3, Max 5
Intermediate Ukulele Group Class (4 Weeks)
This intermediate ukulele class is designed for students who already have basic ukulele experience, are 10 years of age or older (adults are encouraged as well), and are ready to expand their skills and musical confidence.
In a supportive group setting, students will build on foundational techniques while learning more advanced chords, strumming patterns, and performance skills. In each 4 week session, students will learn a variety of songs and styles while improving timing, coordination, and overall musicianship. The class encourages creativity, collaboration, and confidence in group performance settings.

Musical Theater Workshop for Teens
This class is for school-aged students ready to explore the violin for the very first time.
We mix fun music games with beginning violin playing, sparking joy and building a love for the instrument. By the end, students will perform together in an ensemble performance. This class is a valuable experience to cooperate, learn, and make music as a group! Contact us to inquire about schedule and availability. Violins are available for rent if needed.
Musical Theater Workshop for Teens (4 Weeks)
The Sound of Music, Disney musicals, Cinderella, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera. These and many other “legit style” classic musicals are great choices for healthy singing for teens!
In this two-hour, 4-week theater song experience, collaborate with other teenagers or work on your own audition portfolio. Meet new friends and collaborate on singing great theater songs and ensembles this August. The workshop will consist of sharing songs in group sessions, mini private voice lessons, break-out practice time with peers, optional mock auditions, preparing a directed theater scene and/or chorus, and a culminating performance of solos and ensemble.
“The Singers Musical Theater Anthology” and “The First Book of Broadway Solos” by Hal Leonard will be the repertoire source used by the teacher.
Students will need to bring a smart phone and/or a lap top for utilizing vocal tracks and theater videos in break-out practice sessions.

Group Voice Class
This engaging group voice class is perfect for singers of all ages.
We’ll cover the foundations of healthy singing, work on a few fun group songs, and create a supportive space for students to share and perform their own solo pieces for each other. This class is limited to a maximum of 6 students, with a minimum of 3. Students will be grouped by age.
Fun with Bucket Drumming
Join our brand‑new Bucket Drumming program, where rhythm meets creativity.
Students explore beats, patterns, and group performance using simple tools and big imagination. It’s hands‑on, loud, and a perfect entry point for anyone who loves music.
